Cherkalam: A Beacon of Spirituality Amidst a Hectic Life – Kumbol KS Attakoya Thangal
Cherkkalam Memoir Re-released
Kumbla: Despite his demanding socio-political engagements, Cherkalam Abdullah remained steadfast in his spiritual devotion and led a life of righteous action, remarked Kumbol Sayyid KS Attakoya Thangal, a spiritual leader from the renowned Kumbol family in northern Kerala.
He was addressing the gathering at the re-release of the memoir ‘Cherkkalam Orma’, published by the Cherkalam Abdullah Foundation. The special guest, Sayyid Muhammad Shameem Thangal Kumbol, officially received the re-released memoir.
Attakoya Thangal fondly remembered his personal association with Cherkalam Abdullah and shared experiences from their collaboration during Abdullah’s first election campaign. He highlighted Abdullah’s ability to remain firm on principles while prioritizing compassion and nurturing affectionate relationships—an enduring hallmark of his character.
The event, held at Arikkady KP Resort, featured a meeting of the Cherkalam Abdullah Foundation’s working committee and a community Iftar gathering. Foundation Chairman Nasser Cherkalam presided over the function.
Prominent industrialist Nayanmarmoola Volga Abdul Rahman Haji was honored with a special recognition award from the Cherkalam Abdullah Foundation in acknowledgment of his contributions.
Several dignitaries and community leaders conveyed their best wishes, including Azeez Marikke, AK Arif, Ashraf Karla, Foundation Working Chairman Amir Palliyan, Vice Chairman Abdullah Mugu, A Abubakar Bevincha, Noufal Thalangara, CM Moidu Maulavi, BA Rahman Arikkady, KP Muneer, MH Abdul Khader, Kabeer Cherkalam, Nahas Muhammad, and industrialists Shafi Nalappad, Gafoor Eriyal, Naushad MM Chengala, and Abdul Majeed KA Manjeshwaram.
