Jeddah’s Kerala Mappila Kala Academy’s ‘Chinth 2024’ Cultural Extravaganza Mesmerizes Audience

In a vibrant celebration of Kerala’s rich cultural heritage, the Jeddah Chapter of the Kerala Mappila kala Academy hosted the ‘Chinth 2024’ cultural evening, captivating attendees with a mesmerizing display of Mappila songs and literature. The event, held as part of the Kerala Mapila kala Academy’s Silver Jubilee Celebrations under the theme ‘Manavikatakkoru Ishal Sparsham,’ enchanted the audience gathered at Burj Villa in Jeddah Harasat.

The evening resonated with the soulful renditions of both classic and contemporary Mappila songs, brought to life by talented singers accompanied by a dynamic live orchestra. Adding an interactive element to the affair, a quiz program centered around Mappila literature, including songs, authors, and literary works, engaged the audience in a unique and enriching manner.

The inauguration of the Chinth 2024 by esteemed journalist Muzafir marked the commencement of the festivities, presided over by Jeddah Chapter President KNA Latheef. Abdul Raoof Thiroorangadi provided insight into the academy’s objectives and ongoing projects, setting the tone for an evening filled with cultural immersion and camaraderie.

Dignitaries including VP Mustafa, Shihab Tamarakulam, Hifsurahman, CH Basheer, Ilyas Kallingal, Rafi Bimapalli, Yusuf Kota, Abdullah Mukanni, and Seethi Kolakkadan extended their felicitations, underscoring the significance of promoting Mappila arts on an international platform.

KM Irshad orchestrated an engaging quiz session, while a lineup of performers including Jamal Pasha, Mirza Shareef, Mumtaz Abdurrahman, Sadiqali Tuvvoor, Mansoor Farooq, Hasan Kondotti, Mushtaq Madhuvai, Nisar Madavoor, PC Faisal, Qamaruddin, and K. Faisal enthralled the audience with their soul-stirring performances.

The event also featured a lucky draw, with prizes graciously distributed by Muzafir and Salina Muzafir, further enhancing the festive atmosphere. The musical accompaniment, composed by Manzoor Farooq (Harmonium), KT Abdul Manaf (Tabala), and Kiran (Rhythm Pad), added depth and resonance to the cultural presentations.

In his welcome address, General Secretary Mushtaq Madhuvai extended a warm reception to attendees, while Treasurer Hasan Kondotti delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks, acknowledging the collective effort that made the event possible. Nisar Madavoor adeptly guided the proceedings as the presenter, ensuring a seamless flow of activities throughout the evening.

Rahmatali Eranjikal, Mansoor Morayur, Abdurrahman Mavoor, and Ahmed Perumbilai, among others, played pivotal roles in coordinating and organizing the event, contributing to its resounding success and leaving a lasting impression on all those in attendance.
