Harmony in Diversity: Regen’s Cultural Symposium Resonates in Kasaragod
Kasaragod, In a celebration of cultural diversity and a fervent call for resistance against the homogenization of the nation-state, the Regen Group hosted a memorable cultural gathering at Address Villa, Mogralputhur in Kasaragod. The event was marked by a rich tapestry of discussions, stories, anti-fascist-Zionist poetry, live paintings, and artistic expressions.
Cultural workers from various backgrounds came together to share their experiences and perspectives, emphasizing the importance of preserving and embracing the multifaceted nature of society. One of the key themes resonating throughout the gathering was the necessity for a robust resistance against attempts to create a one-dimensional nation-state that erases diversity.
The meeting delved into the diverse histories of the country, with notable speakers including Padmanabhan Blathur, Khalilullah Chemnad, Abu Twahi, TA Shafi, Ashrafali Cherankai, MA Mumtaz Teacher, Aminshah, Nisar Perwad, Shafiq Nazarullah, Abu Kasargod, Fazal Calcutta, Z.A Mogral, Mahin Kunnil, MA Najeeb, KM Irshad, Jabir Kunil, Musa Basith, Shihab KJ among others.
The artistic component of the gathering showcased talents such as Neeraj, who created captivating caricatures on the fly, capturing the essence of the discussions. Nehar Kadavath’s paintings and Mohammad Fadil’s soulful singing added to the overall charm of the event.
An exhibition featuring agricultural and household implements with traces of the past, curated by Tawakal Ibrahim, provided a unique perspective on the region’s history. Attendees were gifted personalized caricatures as a token of appreciation for their participation.
