Nissar Thalangara Takes Helm as President, Democratic Front Secures Victory in Sharjah Indian Association Elections

Sharjah: In a historic turn of events, the Democratic Front emerged triumphant in the recent Sharjah Indian Association elections. The coalition, led by the Kerala Muslim Cultural Center (KMCC) and the MASS (affiliated with the CPIM), secured an overwhelming victory, ushering in a new era of leadership.

At the forefront of this democratic wave is Nissar Thalangara, a distinguished figure hailing from Kasaragod, who clinched the coveted position of President. The election process showcased a spirited contest, with Mr. Shri Prakash, a relative of former Kerala Legislative Assembly Speaker P. Ramakrishnan, being elected as the General Secretary. The victorious team, comprising a total of 46 candidates, is poised to bring fresh perspectives and initiatives to the forefront of the Sharjah Indian Association.

The Nisar-led team garnered support from various quarters, including the influential KMCC, MASS, Youth Kalasahithi, NRI Forum, and Mahatma Gandhi Cultural Forum. This diverse coalition actively engaged in the electoral process, demonstrating unity and a shared vision for the association’s future.

The elections, which saw a participation of 2400 eligible voters within the Sharjah Indian Association, unfolded throughout the day, commencing at 8 AM and concluding with the announcement of winners late in the evening. The elected committee, led by President Nissar Thalangara and General Secretary Shri Prakash, is set to steer the association’s affairs for the next two years.

This victory marks a significant milestone in the democratic journey of the Shariah Indian Association, symbolizing the collective aspirations and choices of its members. The newly elected leadership is expected to bring dynamism, inclusivity, and innovation to the forefront, ensuring the continued growth and vibrancy of the association.
