Qatar KMCC, MogralPuthur Committee Takes a Stand Against Exploitative Airfares to Gulf Countries: Urgent Plea Presented to MP Rajmohan Unnithan

Doha: The Qatar KMCC Mogar Puthurputtur Panchayat Committee, led by Abdul Rahman Eriyal and association with State President Dr. Samad, General Secretary Salim Nalakat, Vice President Adam Kunhi Thalangara, District Committee Vice President Nasir Kaitakkad, and General Secretary Sameer Treasurer Siddique Maniampara, is urgently calling for government intervention to curb the escalating airfare exploitation targeting airlines serving Gulf countries. Their impassioned petition, presented in the presence of these KMCC leaders, draws attention to the exorbitant charges faced by passengers flying from Kerala, which are five times higher than those at airports in Bangalore and Chennai.

The committee, deeply concerned about the seeming endorsement of this daily exploitation by both central and state governments, particularly affecting vital expatriates, has put forth a compelling plea. The petition emphasizes the recent surge in fares, especially during festive seasons like New Year, Christmas, Onam, and Bali, significantly burdening non-resident individuals. Stressing the urgency of the matter, the committee is urging authorities to not only address the issue promptly but also apply pressure on the central government to introduce special services for expatriates during peak seasons.

Furthermore, the petition was formally presented to Mr. Rajmohan Unnithan, Member of Parliament for Kasargod, at the KMCC Office in Qatar. This strategic move adds a layer of formal engagement with political representatives, enhancing the committee’s efforts to seek justice and fairness in rectifying the unjust airfare practices. Their presentation during the meeting emphasizes the significance of bringing this matter to the forefront, ensuring that the concerns of affected individuals are heard and acted upon by relevant authorities.
